Happy Halloween

The boys had a great halloween. They were dressed as The Man in the Yellow Hat and Curious George. Both had a great time and we went to a ton of houses in a friend's neighborhood. James ate his first piece of candy and of course loved it. Here are a few pics from the night.

The boys and I went to Huntsville this weekend while William went on a trip with his Dad. We had a great time and got to spend lots of time with Pop and Granny. We took a trip to a pumpkin farm. Harris and James took a ride with Granny on the corn train, and Harris had a ball rolling around in the corn crib. On Sunday, we spent the afternoon with Mamaw. James had a great time playing with Mamaw's Mardi Gras beads. Then we all built a giant leaf pile and I tried to show Harris how to get a good running start before jumping in! It was a great weekend!

The Cook

Harris has really become interested in cooking lately, especially in his own kitchen. He really gets into it, and uses his microwave, blender, and mixer to whip up meals and desserts for us. He remembers to give us a fork, cup, and will set it out on the table. Yesterday he made a meal for me: macaroni and cheese, pizza, and an egg (I promise this is no representation of what he eats at a meal!). As I sat down at the table, he proudly described to me what he had made. I started eating and doting on his wonderful meal. He was kind of just standing there watching me eat, and I asked him if he would like to share with me. He said, "No thanks, I am just the cook that came with it." I love four year old language!

Fall is Here!

Fall is here and we have been enjoying our time outside! Two weekends ago Nana and Big Daddy came to build a swing set and sandbox for the boys. While we are still completing the sandbox project, the swings are done and both of them LOVE it! We also cut down a bunch of low limbs and little trees while they were here, so William spent all day Sunday burning all of that. Harris loved the 'campfire' and even needed to put on his fire gear for safety.

We ended the night with a little marshmallow roast, thanks to the Bryant's! As it became dark outside, Harris and Hayes had a good time pretending to be astronauts exploring the moon.

James is Walking!

OK, James is officially walking now. I am counting it because he has gone from walking a few steps and then falling down and crawling, to standing up from a sitting position and walking around the house. However, he has a cold (two weeks of runny nose now) and is quite temperamental at this time. Currently, he is only content when he has a fistful of tissue or paper towel in his hand. So I have a one year old walking around the house, literally doing laps, with a fistful of paper towel in his hand.

I should add that the other child in our family is actively performing with the Dave Matthews band on TV right now. He's quite good, I think. I can tell he is really paying attention to detail!
